ADSLGuide has heard from BTWholesale that trials of their new extended reach broadband ADSL (not to be confused with the future 256Kbps product) are to take place during April/May 2003:
In terms of what the increase in limit means for users, existing DSL users will see no change at all. What is likely though is that people able to get DSL because of the change in the limits may experience more rate adaption on the upstream channel, the downstream speeds will remain at 512kbps.The official launch is predicted to be sometime during the summer months (2003); more details are expected within the next few weeks.
