Nildram Launch Faster/Cheaper ADSL

Posted: 05th Mar, 2003 By: MarkJ
UPDATE: It's being reported that there's also a 150Gb per month bandwidth limit, which is at least a fair bit better than NTLs 1Gb per day cap.

UK ISP Nildram has issued a new press release announcing itself as the latest provider to introduce a 50:1 contended 1 and 2Mbps broadband ADSL service.

Many may remember that Internet Central recently launched a similar product last week:

Nildram brings Faster Broadband Access to the People!

One of the UK’s highest performing Broadband Internet Service Providers, Nildram, have launched a trial of new higher speed Broadband services.

Having just topped the performance charts for a sixth month in a row on the UK’s leading independent Broadband reference site, adslguide.org.uk, today sees the launch of a trial for two new Nildram Broadband services: Nildram dslXtra1000 and Nildram dslXtra2000.

Both services share the same 256k upload speed and 50:1 maximum contention ratio of Nildram’s popular entry level services, but with impressive 1Mbps and 2Mbps download speeds, bringing higher speed Broadband services using Nildram’s industry renowned backbone network to a wider audience.

Iain Ogilvie, Nildram’s Marketing Manager comments: “Since the launch of Broadband in the UK, home users and small businesses seeking the most cost effective entry into Broadband have been limited to 512Kbps download speeds, unless they were prepared to pay for the higher cost ‘business strength’ Office series services.”

Martin Jowett, Nildram’s Sales & Marketing Director noted: “This has limited choice and, being a popular Broadband ISP for the ‘power’ users, we have received a large number of requests for services that can bridge the gap with performance equivalent to the Office1000 and Office2000 products.” He continues: “Always keen to act upon customer feedback we are particularly pleased to be able to launch a trial of these new services, which represent a unique combination of price, performance and Nildram customer care – we expect the trial to be extremely popular!”
