Broadband services provider, Bulldog Communications, today announced it has introduced the UK's first fully-installed Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system for homes and small businesses. The Bulldog WLAN includes complete managed installation and network configuration that is capable of providing connectivity for up to 15 laptop and desktop computers. An entire family or small business can now access and share files and applications, experience the power and convenience of 'always on' high-speed broadband service, and integrate their home or office network seamlessly and securely through a single Bulldog broadband Internet connection.

Bulldog's unique installed WLAN product offers efficiency, convenience and value. For one set price of £399.99 (including VAT), a Bulldog-certified engineer will install and configure an integrated ADSL Modem, Router and WLAN Access Point capable of communicating with up to 15 computers from a single main access point in the home or office. By eliminating cumbersome wires and cables, the Internet user can immediately experience the convenience and efficiency of 'computer-mobility' around the home or office.

The competitively priced installation includes a pre-installation phone survey, line check, full encryption of the WLAN system, basic firewall set-up and email transfer. Delivery can be arranged within 2 weeks from time of order.

Bulldog's managed WLAN is another example of how Bulldog has specifically designed new, innovative and unique products to drive the growing consumer and business demand for higher-speed broadband Internet services. Combined with Bulldog's high-speed broadband services, the Bulldog WLAN user can experience faster downloading of emails, file attachments, video, film, and music. Bulldog WLAN products are based on state-of-the-art, leading-edge technology. The wireless broadband technology is based on the 802.11b global wireless networking standard. Bulldog's WLAN product is available to new and existing subscribers of Bulldog's newly-announced line of high-speed Alltime and Primetime products, including Primetime 4000, the UK's fastest broadband Internet service for the home. From today, Bulldog's managed WLAN product will be available to customers within the M25. Bulldog plans to extend the availability nationwide later this year.
