Telewest Broadband launches revamped online gaming service
Telewest Broadband has re-launched its award-winning blueyonder multiplayer gaming service with unique new features and a new pricing structure.
By visiting http://www.bygames.com, users can access multiplayer versions of popular retail games from over 130 servers. Games on offer range from Medal of Honour and Half-life, to Unreal Tournament and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
In addition to its free servers, the service will offer a new subscription-based package priced at £3 a month allowing gamers to test their skills against others from all over the world. The fee includes:
* 14 hours of server time each month to book or launch user-controlled game servers
* the ability to create a clan (team)
* entrance to subscriber only events, as well as public leagues and tournaments
* access to subscriber only servers running our most popular games
* access to community forums
blueyonder customers can benefit from all of the above for a discounted rate of just £2 a month.
Chad Raube, director of internet services at Telewest Broadband, said: "blueyonder gaming is defining the future of multiplayer gaming with our unique user-controlled game and server booking system, attracting interest from as far afield as Japan and the US.
With BT withdrawing its multiplayer gaming servers, we're committed to offering our gamers one of the best online gaming experiences available today."
Telewest Broadband will introduce additional enhanced features to the service over the next few months, including subscriber only optimised servers for the most popular games, subscriber-only forums and subscriber rankings.
Launched in September 2001, blueyonder games has developed into one of the most popular multiplayer gaming sites in Europe, with over 60,000 registered users and individual games attracting over 1,500 simultaneous players every day.
