Telewest Broadband makes console connection
Telewest Broadband today launches a blueyonder gaming pack, enabling its internet customers to share their high-speed connection between a PC and PS2 or Xbox.
The dual connectivity service has a £25 set-up fee and then costs £5 per month, providing a hassle-free console connection via a router and ethernet cables, plus a second IP address.
Chad Raube, director of internet services at Telewest Broadband, said: "We're proving once again that cable is the best route to online gaming. There are a number of ways to connect a games console with our blueyonder broadband service but this is the most practical and hassle-free.
With our blueyonder broadband services starting from £25 per month, the combined cost of high-speed access and the gaming pack is on par with some ADSL internet services offering standard access alone."
Customers can order the gaming pack in the self-care section of blueyonder.co.uk, with the hardware normally dispatched within 48 hours.
Michel Cassius, senior director, Xbox platform and marketing, added: "We're pleased to be working with Telewest Broadband to bring their customers the blueyonder gaming pack. It's an even easier route to the excitement of the Xbox Live, which offers great games, voice communication and a persistent gamertag no matter what you're playing."
