Following the announcement that BT was to cut the cost of its DataStream (non-BT ADSL) product by a further 50p, several operators have now responded with a mix of enthusiasm and doubt:
Clare Waters, corporate office director of Energis, said: "BT's modest price cut today is an encouraging step, although it doesn't go far enough. More progress will be required for the UK to achieve widespread roll out of broadband."
Meanwhile, Ian Hood, director of communication at Thus, said that the company welcomes "any change in our operating environment that allows us to compete more effectively and on a level playing field.
