New UK ISP Goes LIVE - Neon City

Posted: 30th Sep, 2003 By: MarkJ
Neon City has just become the latest unmetered dialup [BT & NTL] (from £16.95 per month) and broadband ADSL (from £24.95 per month) offering ISP to find its way into the UK market.

Sadly the service doesn't detail the exact spec of its various dialup and ADSL packages. This is especially so in the case of its dialup offers, which cost between £16.95 and £43.95, yet do not state the differences.

Those interested in ADSL should note that there's a common £60 activation charge. We've also been informed that the ISP will offer a special web-hosting extension for £28 per year (expected to go live in a few days):

The service will provide 10 mb webspace with CGI access, MySQL, PHP, an Hsphere control panel for users, unlimited webmail accounts, and for the novice, we will include Site Studio with templates.

We've also been told that "the site will offer Trillian Instant messanger software as a free download and within a week we hope to plugin 'content watch' parental controls, spam filtering, and virus protection as an optional feature."
