Telewest Broadband waves goodbye to pop-up ads
Building on the successful re-launch of blueyonder.co.uk, Telewest Broadband has today launched a partnership with Panicware providing its internet customers with free access to Panicware Pop-Up Stopper software.
Pop-up ads have long been associated with the frustrating side of surfing the net. So much so, that a recent poll by Jupiter Research found that 80% of online adult users voted pop-ups the number one annoying form of online ad.*
Pop-Up Stopper is an easy-to-use browser toolbar for Internet Explorer that allows surfers to selectively control pop-up windows, or block them completely, without being forced to sites they have no wish to visit.
Chad Raube, director of internet services at Telewest Broadband, said: "Panicware's Pop-Up Stopper combines an easy-to-use application with the option to hand pick pop-up windows you may want to access. We hope introducing this software will offer welcome relief from a top distraction for today's web surfer."
In a separate development, Telewest Broadband has teamed up with Amplefuture, the global provider of mobile entertainment solutions, to provide blueyonder customers with everything they need to personalise their mobile phone.
blueyonder.co.uk now offers surfers ringtones, java games, celebrity voicemail greetings and logos to download. Customers can also create their own logos and picture messages.
