Bulldog Offers Consumer 1Mbps ADSL

Posted: 14th Oct, 2003 By: MarkJ
In an effort to keep up with the competition Bulldog has introduced a "national 1Mbps consumer service for the same price (£32.89 inc. VAT) as most 512kbps connections":

Bulldog takes the brakes off broadband for consumers nationwide

Home Internet users across the whole country are the targets for ultra-competitive 1 Mbps broadband Internet access thanks to a new service from Bulldog Communications, the high-speed broadband specialist and alternative DSL broadband network operator.

Bulldog is one of the first UK Internet Service Providers to take advantage of BT Wholesale’s new IPStream Home 1000 service and has begun consumer trials of a national 1 Mbps broadband service, based on its AllTime 1000 product. Priced at just £27.99 a month (£32.89 inc. VAT), AllTime 1000 50:1 gives UK Internet users twice as much speed for the same price as most 512 kbps connections.

One of the most experienced high-speed broadband providers, Bulldog has been offering consumers 1 Mbps speed services since December 2002. Bulldog’s AllTime 1000 40:1 product comes with a unique 40:1 contention ratio and is currently available to over 8 million homes. Under this new trial, Bulldog can offer the AllTime 1000 50:1 product, with an industry-standard 50:1 contention ratio, on a nationwide basis.

“Now consumers are not restricted by speed and geographic limitations. Bulldog’s AllTime 1000 is a great value, high performance broadband service and we’re pleased to offer it nationwide,” says Richard Greco, CEO of Bulldog. “AllTime 1000 is ideal for any existing broadband user looking for more speed without more spend. It’s also highly attractive for first-time broadband users that want to experience the full potential of high-speed Internet access – whether it’s for flexible working or serious online gaming.”

AllTime 1000 50:1 is immediately available to consumers living within a 3.5 kilometre line length of DSL broadband-enabled exchanges, and covers a further 10 million households in addition to the 8 million already captured by the AllTime 1000 40:1 footprint.

During October, new Bulldog customers who are connected to Bulldog’s extended network coverage of telephone exchanges in Greater London, the South East and major city centres including Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Cambridge can sign up to the AllTime 1000 40:1 product for just £24.99 per month (£29.36 inc. VAT) and choose from either a free USB modem, half price connection charge or a special price NETGEAR Ethernet modem offer.
