Telewest Broadband has signed a new partnership with Google, the award winning search engine, to provide the search tool on its newly re-launched web site, blueyonder.co.uk.
Google's standard web search will be available on every page positioned in the tool bar and also in the specialist search section. Google will provide web search results to blueyonder customers and relevant sponsored links from Google AdWords advertisers.
Chad Raube, director of internet services at Telewest Broadband, said: "The new blueyonder site is about bringing leading content and applications partners together to help our customers get the best from their net connection.
Searching the web is the number one online activity and Google is the number one search engine for the job. We need a superfast search tool to keep up with our 1Mb and 2Mb blueyonder broadband services."
Omid Kordestani, senior vice president of worldwide sales and field operations for Google, added: "Through this partnership blueyonder customers will have the ability to search billions of web pages. The addition of Telewest Broadband to our rapidly growing network of search partners also enables Google's 150,000 advertisers to reach the thousands of internet users who visit blueyonder.co.uk."
