The CEO of Three (3) UK, Kevin Russell, has hinted that he expects Mobile Broadband (HSPA) services to start taking on the Wi-Fi market this year. His comments came on the back of strong Q4-2008 results, which showed the mobile operator as being close to breaking even.


Presently Three (3) is believed to have upwards of 1 Million USB Modem (Dongle) using Mobile Broadband customers in the UK. It has also gained a reputation for being one of the cheapest providers in the market, albeit not always capable offering the best quality.

Earlier last month we also reported that Three (3) had begun offering a monthly Mobile Broadband service for just £15 per month, which includes 15GB of monthly data usage and a free USB Modem. However there is a 24 month contract involved.
