Broadband ISP TalkTalk ( The Carphone Warehouse ) has recently begun a new complete installation package pilot. Those requiring a new phone line for their broadband service will only be charged a connection fee of £59.99 to have the line hooked-up, which is a far cry from the £120 that some others apply.

Availability is understood to be very limited over the next few weeks, which isn't surprising given the services "pilot" status. Those interested are being asked to follow a simple sign-up procedure to get the new service:

1. Phone 0800 049 1424.
2. Pick a broadband package that suits you.
3. Select a convenient date to have your new line installed.

The move follows a raft of price changes and hikes last month (original news).
