Mobile operator Orange UK appears to have suffered a double whammy of allegedly unrelated Internet service outages between Wednesday and Thursday this week. Both their mobile data ( Mobile Broadband ) and home land-line broadband services were struck by the problems, which prevented an unknown number of customers from getting online.
It's not known what caused the home broadband service to go down, although Orange hints that the mobile outage was most likely caused by vandals cutting one of its essential cables near Heathrow (London). Roughly half of the operator’s mobile data users are believed to have been affected.
Happily the service has now been restored and Orange has apologised for the troubles.
