ISP Vispa Internet UK has acquired the broadband DSL (ADSL) customer base of Scotland based
Abel Internet, a former rival. The move means that more than 700 business and residential customers have now been transferred from Abel to Vispa.
James Ormerod, Vispa’s Managing Director, says:
“The Acquisition of Abel’s Broadband business is a good move for Vispa and will certainly be beneficial to the transferring customers. Vispa has a lot to offer and we look forward to servicing the base in the future”
Adam Binks, Vispa’s Commercial Director, added:
“The Abel customer base has been very loyal and has enjoyed several years of unprecedented customer service and support and we will ensure that the customers will continue to receive such service. Abel’s customers will now also have the opportunity to benefit from the many additional products and services that Vispa has to offer”
The acquisition is said to be the first of many planned by Vispa, which is actively seeking contact from any ISP that might be looking for an exit strategy. Many smaller ISPs are struggling in this aggressively competitive environment and so it is perhaps not unsurprising to see today’s news.
