BSkyB's 24 hour Sky News TV channel can now be viewed live online directly via their website. Viewers will be required to install a small Silverlight extension for their website browser (Microsoft's equivalent of FLASH) and obviously a broadband connection is also needed; only available to the UK and Ireland.

The video itself comes in three quality options - Low, Medium and High. It is not clear precisely what connection speed each requires, although from monitoring our network we never saw the LOW stream go above 740Kbps (0.74Mb), while the HIGH stream hovered between 1.4Mb and 1.8Mb.
