UK ISP Orange has quietly revamped its Internet deal prices and increased its unbundled ( LLU ) broadband package speeds from 'up to' 8Mbps to 20Mbps ( ADSL2+ ). Customers who already have a mobile phone contract with the operator will, as before, also be able to take advantage of some special lower price discounts.

The move is another attempt by Orange to stop the decline of its broadband subscriber base, although much of that has occurred as a result of poor customer support and service quality. Each package is also subject to a lengthy 18 month minimum contract term. Orange should also try to make the difference between its Home Starter and Select packages clearer.
The fastest broadband speed of 20Mbps is only available to those who live in an unbundled LLU Orange broadband network area, which currently covers 65% of all UK homes. Those outside of this location will be limited to ADSLMAX speeds of up to 8Mbps and could be charged up to £10 extra per month for broadband.
