People who live in Northern Ireland are the UK's least satisfied broadband ISP users. A new price comparison site study has revealed that nearly one in five people (18%) in N.Ireland think their broadband service is "
bad" or "
terrible".
Top 10 Broadband’s study, based on over 180,000 satisfaction ratings on its website, also found that North West England was the happiest region. Some 60% of people there describe their broadband service as "
good" or "
great."
The area with the lowest level of dissatisfaction was East Anglia, where only 12% of people complained their broadband was not up to scratch. Nationally the average figure for broadband satisfaction was 57%, with 14% saying they were dissatisfied.
Happily the Northern Ireland Executive last year revealed new plans to reverse this trend by promising to deliver a minimum download speed of 2Mbps for rural areas and 10Mbps for urban areas by May 2011 (
