Mobile operator Three (3) UK has announced that its MiFi product, which is essentially a battery powered Wi-Fi router that has been designed to distribute the operators Mobile Broadband ( 3G ) service over a Wi-Fi link, will be getting an upgrade to the new '
one-touch' MiFi (Huawei E585) device.
The Huawei E585, much like its predecessor, creates a personal (local area) Wi-Fi Hotspot for up to five devices, such as iPads, laptops or handheld games consoles, giving you the flexibility of getting more than one device online when on the go.
The new model boasts a one button connection, an improved OLED display and an online dashboard that works with any website browser – features not available in the original model. The new look screen displays information like the amount of data used, speed of the current connection and length of browsing time.
The Huawei E585 based MiFi device is expected to be available from early July 2010 and will be priced at £49.99 on their Pay As You Go (PAYG) Mobile Broadband packages. Other options and service bundles will naturally be available too.
