Skype, the popular
Voice-over-IP ( VoIP ) internet phone calling giant, has decided to mark
Internet Week Europe by giving away free UK Wi-Fi (wireless broadband) access to its
200,000 Hotspots between now and Friday 12th November 2010.
The promotion is available via
Skype Access, which usually makes you pay for Wi-Fi access per minute using Skype Credit. Apparently all you need is a connection to a Skype Access compatible hotspot and the latest version of Skype for Mac OS or MS Windows.
From 0001 GMT on the 8th November 2010 to to 2359 GMT on the 12th November 2010, Skype Access will be free to use, so you can surf the web, send email and make free Skype-to-Skype voice and video calls at Skype Access-enabled WiFi hotspots in cafés, hotels and airports across the UK.
