Broadband and phone provider TalkTalk UK, specifically it's "
Labs" research division, has announced a new "
proof of concept trial" for their
Wireless Extender device. As you might expect the device is designed to boost the coverage of your home Wi-Fi networks by solving radio signal issues, such as signal impairment and attenuation.
It is looking to
recruit 100 customers ideally who feel their current wireless range is sub-standard and would be willing to perform some Pre-Extender and Post-Extender diagnostic comparisons using
TalkTalk Labs Desktop.
The Wireless Extender can be positioned anywhere within the home with minimal setup as it plugs directly into a standard household electric socket. The best positioning for the device would be half-way between your router and the computer with which you have wireless range issues.
