Two major ISPs, Virgin Media and O2 UK, have both come out on top in the first Broadbandgenie.co.uk 2011 Home Broadband Awards. O2 picked up the gongs for 'Best Broadband Provider' and 'Best Broadband Support', while Virgin Media was awarded 'Fastest Broadband Provider' and 'Best Bundled Broadband'.

The awards used "independent data" provided by OnePoll, which surveyed more than 3,000 customers across all of the UK's largest nine broadband ISPs. However O2 and Virgin Media were not the only award winners, with PlusNet , BT and Be Broadband also being celebrated for different categories.

It's worth pointing out that, on average, 70% of home broadband ISP customers said they were satisfied, or better, with their service. The lowest rated ISPs was, perhaps unsurprisingly given all of last year's problems, TalkTalk UK.
