Popular ISP Be Broadband has informed customers of its legacy BE Value package, which once offered a 40GB monthly usage allowance and up to 8Mbps speeds for just £7.40 per month (half-price promotions), that the old product will be completely withdrawn from 31st March 2011.

By contrast BE's modern day 'Value' package offers "Unlimited usage" (FUP), a free wireless router, free connection and download speeds of up to 12Mbps; albeit at the somewhat higher price of £14.08 per month.


Customers whom currently pay £7.40 per month for the old service, which is incredibly cheap, might understandably be a little miffed at the news. Indeed the most recent half-price offer was only just launched last January 2010, although back in 2009 there was a brief £6.75 promotion running too. Credits to the BeUsergroup for spotting this.
