Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly consumer broadband ISP speed testing results for the past month of August 2011, which saw the
average UK internet download speed fall back slightly from a record high of 8.313Mbps in July 2011 to
8.056Mbps now. By contrast the
average upload speed was able to maintain a fairly unchanged rate of
1.209Mbps.
Cable giant Virgin Media has managed to maintain its lead as the
fastest broadband ISP with an average download rate of
16.971Mbps (down slightly from 17.398Mbps in July) and stable uploads of 2.484Mbps.
