The Cloud, a BSkyB owned
Wi-Fi Hotspot operator, has
announced that its contract to supply a
free public wireless internet access service across the
City of London has been awarded a 5 year extension.
Londoners can obtain
15 minutes of free wireless internet access per day within the
Square Mile of London, after which they'll need to cough up for a premium service. The operator runs a similar promotion in
Glasgow. Rivals, such as Virgin Media and O2 UK, are also increasingly keen to get in on the action.
The operator also plans to upgrade its network with more capacity so that it can keep up with the growing levels of demand from mobile and tablet users.
