Wavemobile Reaches 5 Millionth Unique Connected UK Mobile Devices
Rural connectivity provider Wavemobile, which specialises in deploying both private and public 4G and 5G mobile (mobile broadband) network services to rural communities and specific locations (inc. indoors), has revealed that their network recently had its five millionth unique connected device (this occurred two weeks ago).
Just to be clear. Wavemobile are effectively an independent mobile network (MNO) and licensed RAN (Radio Access Network) operator with their own MNC, Core, Numbering resources, and DIAMETER/MAP peering into the GSM cloud. But this is a network that does allow customers of other operators to connect over their infrastructure.
According to the latest data, more than 5 million devices have now been connected by their network at some point. Mobile operator VodafoneThree (Vodafone + Three UK) actually tops the list now with a combined total of 1.42 million visited devices, followed by O2 (1.29m) and EE (1.02m). The biggest virtual mobile operator to use their network is Sky Mobile (164k). In addition, there’s also well over 100,000 IoT SIM cards.
