Cable operator Virgin Media has today confirmed that 41 London underground tube stations have been connected to its free public wireless internet access (WiFi) service, which will rise to 82 before the end of July 2012 and 120 before the end of this year.
So far 100,000 passengers have gone online with the service during its first 4 weeks in operation. It will remain FREE throughout the summer. After the summer, the portal with TfL travel information, updates and London news and entertainment will remain free for all Tube passengers but general access will come at a cost, unless you’re a Virgin Media customer (original news).
