RootMetrics has published a new study of mobile broadband performance in Edinburgh and Glasgow (Scotland, UK), which as usual found that EE and Three UK delivered the fastest 4G and 3G data connections respectively to local mobile users.
Some 26,000 – 30,000 performance tests were performed in each of the two cities, which took place on both 4G and 3G networks. But it must be stressed that EE are deemed to have an advantage due to their early roll-out of superfast 4G (LTE) technology, while the remaining operators have had to rely on slower 3G services.

2. Three UK (DL: 7.7Mbps | UL: 1.9Mbps)
3. O2 (DL: 3.1Mbps | UL: 1.3Mbps)
4. Vodafone (DL: 2.9Mbps | UL: 0.8Mbps)
In addition both EE and Three UK continued to demonstrate the strongest level of Network Reliability, although O2 and Vodafone were only a few points behind. On top of that all operators did generally well for call and text message performance.
