ISP Gigaclear, which is aiming to cover 350,000 rural UK premises with their Gigabit capable FTTP broadband network by the end of 2021 (currently 65,000 premises passed), has been ranked 23rd in the Tech Track’s 2018 league table of Britain’s 100 private tech companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest 3 years.
At the time of writing the Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100 page is still only showing the results from 2017 and we aren’t expecting to get the full list for 2018 until they update it again on Sunday (9th September 2018). However we know that there are other broadband ISPs on the list too, specifically urban FTTP/B provider Hyperoptic was ranked 17th in last year’s update (here) and this year they’re in again at 26th.
Nevertheless Gigaclear is clearly pleased to announce the result, particularly since it comes so soon after they won the “Best Rural Broadband Provider” award for the 2nd consecutive year at the recent 2018 Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards (here).

Mike Surrey, CEO of Gigaclear, told ISPreview.co.uk:
“We are thrilled to not only be included, but also to feature so high up on the league table of Britain’s fastest growing tech firms. Acknowledgement like this is testament to the work we’re doing on a daily basis to end digital exclusion in rural locations. We truly believe that every rural property in the UK should be able to enjoy a full fibre connection and our aim is to continue to strive towards ensuring this becomes a reality.”
Steve Holford, Chief Customer Officer of Hyperoptic, said:
“It’s hugely rewarding to be recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies. The last year has been transformative for Hyperoptic. Full fibre has become firmly established as the industry gold standard, which the whole sector now recognises it needs to follow.
We are proud to be leading the charge. With continuous investment in our network expansion, supported by residential and business demand as well as increasing interest from councils, we are is bringing its step-change full-fibre service to more areas of the country – bridging the digital divide and expanding local economies.”
Congrats.
