Uswitch.com has today named the winners of their annual 2025 Telecoms Awards event, which among things saw UK ISP Plusnet once again being named as the best “National Broadband Provider of the Year“, while YouFibre won the best regional provider award and giffgaff scooped the win for best mobile “Network of the Year“.
As usual, the comparison site selected its winners via a combination of methods. Most of the awards were decided based on a survey of 22,162 UK consumers (conducted between 16th to 31st December 2024), while several other categories were chosen by a panel of 11 “expert” judges from the fields of consumer affairs, personal finance and technology.
We’ve summarised all of the results below.

Best value should be Lebara surely
Totally agree Declan.
I’m with Lebara on a 5G 50gig, 100 international calls, unlimited mins and texts for 65p a month over 9mths.
Best mobile company I’ve ever used.
I’ve been with Smarty & now with Lebara. Both networks about on par to be honest, it’s just that the Vodafone signal is better than the 3 signal where I live. Certainly would recommend either over the main networks for Sim only customers.
Value for money and pretty good service too, I would vote Lebara
Yeah, I agree. Recently moved someone over to that 65p deal and you can’t argue with that price for 9 months with no contract.
SMARTY is alright for deals, but they take away parts of your data allowance after 15 months (since a lot of times, you’re getting a promotional deal) and you can’t necessarily always use all of your data allowance (up to 12GB) when roaming (since promotional data doesn’t count).
Best Mobile Network Coverage – (powered by Opensignal) – O2
This must be some kind of a joke.
For coverage yes as O2s coverage I would say is the best unfortunately not for speed
Agreed that this is utter nonsense. EE generally has had the most reliable coverage in my experience, with Three edging out in some locations (I just wouldn’t recommend them with the amount of 3G sites left and then leaving older sites on B20 5MHz).
I think logically, Vodafone should edge out O2 in coverage most of the time.
These Awards are always a joke Plusnet Wins every year
Best Value Lebara Smarty
That would be because it’s good?
giffgaf and O2 are the winners… Right, they expect us to take those awards seriously??
It appears to me these are just for operators to put stuff on their marketing material, from my experience it really doesn’t necessary match real world experiences.
In short… take it with a pinch of salt.
Probably all based on who pays the highest commision to Uswitch!
Switched to Youfibre a month ago and can confirm they’ve been brilliant every step of the way.
EE fanboys only like surveys where they come out on top. They’re paid to post here.
The ‘experts’ are probably shareholders voting for their dividend.
Vodafone best ISP? What a joke. If anyone ever had to deal with their customer service, this would be dead last.
We’re both with Giffgaff and it’s a no nonsense online based network with no telephone customer support staff. It’s what appealed to us because when we were with EE, they would ring us every few weeks with offers and asking us to take their broadband. Giffgaff don’t bother you
We also don’t like contracts and PAYG with a £10 bundle each does us perfectly
