UK ISP Quickline, which specialises in deploying “full fibre” FTTP and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) networks around Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, has today confirmed their new plan to invest £500m on a deployment of “ultrafast and gigabit-capable broadband” connectivity across rural Northern England and beyond.

Hull-based UK broadband ISP KCOM, which was gobbled up by Macquarie Infrastructure for £627m in 2019 (here), appears to have sold their off-net Eclipse Internet base to the Global 4 Group for an undisclosed sum. By the looks of it the provider will now make a return under the Eclipse Broadband name.

People connecting to KCOM’s gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire will be pleased to note that the ISP will today launch a new range of packages with faster download and upload speeds. The standard prices have also been tweaked (some are cheaper, some are not).

Hull-based UK ISP KCOM has recently launched a special promotion for those living in their new “full fibre” network coverage areas around East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, which gives new customers the freedom to try every broadband speed at just £25 a month for the first 6 months of service (from 900Mbps to 75Mbps).

Ofcom has published their 2021 survey of UK broadband ISP and mobile service quality, call waiting times, complaints and install times among the largest providers. Overall TalkTalk attracted the lowest satisfaction for broadband (77%), while Three UK did the same for mobile (86%). Generally, customer service has taken a COVID-19 hit.
