Mobile phone operator Vodafone UK has announced the introduction of a new USB 'Mobile Broadband' dongle/adaptor, which is simply called the USB Modem Stick. The stick itself is branded for Vodafone, designed to be slimmer than earlier models and includes support for the operators new (faster) Mobile Broadband speeds, which run at up to 7.2Mbps downstream and 1.44Mbps upstream (HSD/UPA).

The adaptor appears to cost the same as Vodafone's existing hardware, pricing itself from just £49 with an 18 month 'Mobile Broadband' package contract. However Vodafone do not yet appear to have updated their website with the new adaptor and still display the previous generation.
