Orange UK has shaken up its management in a move that will see presiding CEO Bernard Ghillebaert demoted to being Executive Vice President of Sales and Customer Experience. Virgin Mobiles former boss, Tom Alexander, will pick up Ghillebaert's role as CEO.
It's well known that
Orange has been suffering from a mix of poor profits and customer service/support issues, although the operator has recently begun making moves to rectify these areas:
Tom will lead the UK business as it builds on its mobile heritage and expands into new territories including the home phone and Digital TV markets. He will report directly to Olaf Swantee, Senior Executive Vice President Personal Communication Services UK & EME for the
Orange Group, and will join the company in December 2007.
