AOL Bids Farewall To Netscape Browser

Posted: 29th Dec, 2007 By: MarkJ
AOL is to cease its support for the 'Netscape' website browser due to a lack of users. The browser, which is built on Mozilla's Firefox code and includes some useful additional features, will lose support after 1st February 2008.

Once the top dog, Netscape quickly lost its hold as Microsoft's IE took over in the years prior to Firefox and Operas arrival. The Netscape brand was later purchased by AOL, which has failed to revive it despite some initially strong investment.
