Pipex may have sold its fixed-line broadband customers to Tiscali but it still retains several important assets, such as its website hosting business and WiMAX broadband wireless platform.

Speaking after the release of its latest results today, Pipex stated that it intends to start the potential de-merger of its wireless unit. The group also setup an independent committee, comprising all members of its board excluding chairman Peter Dubens, which is designed to discuss such options and any sale proposals.

It's understood that Pipex intends to press ahead with all of this during the coming fourth quarter.
