Which?'s Legal Service team have reported having to deal with more complaints about BT during October than any other company. Trailing in second place behind BT was VirginMedia, which will come as little surprise given the recent broadband ADSL problems:
Our lawyers handled 61 calls from consumers complaining about the telecoms giant, with gripes ranging from collection and billing problems to complaints about customer service. Which? has contacted BT and we'll publish its response when we receive it.
Installation problems and general customer service issues helped drive
Virgin Media to second place in the monthly complaints table, with our lawyers taking 39 calls about the company.
Billing problemsIn third place was British Gas. Which? Legal Service took 36 calls about the utilities company, with billing problems and annual service contracts being the main cause of complaints.
Talk Talk and
Orange notched up 23 and 21 complaints respectively, followed by Barclays, with 14 complaints, and Comet, Currys and Tiscali , with 13 complaints each.
Other hot topics for the lawyers included cashback on mobile phone contracts, ISP connection/contract issues, debt collection agencies and international lottery scams.
Last week saw VirginMedia top our own more ISP specific
Complaints Page, closely followed by Tiscali. Sadly VirginMedia still hasn't issued us with a response to our requests for comment and the complaints keep coming.
