The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a complaint against an advertisement for ISP AOL UK's broadband service. The ad promoted their online radio (Radio@AOL) as delivering CD quality audio; the ASA found otherwise:
The Authority was concerned that the claim "CD quality radio stations" implied absolute equivalence between the audio quality of the broadcast and uncompressed CD sound. Because the advertisers had not proved that, the Authority concluded that the claim could mislead and advised the advertisers to amend it with help from the CAP Copy Advice team.http://www.asab.org.uk/asa/adjudications/Adjudication+Details.htm?Adjudication_id=39526
