UK-Bug reports that the latest broadband statistics from BT Group, which includes cable operators, show a total of 7.4m connections. This figure, for the first time, surpasses that of UK dialup (narrowband):
This includes the 1.7 million using BT's own service, a further 3.7 million connected across it's network by rival ISP's, and 2 million cable customers from NTL and Telewest.Sadly we were unable to locate the source of this information, with no PR being released from BT at the time of writing, although hopefully it will do later today. It's unclear how many dialup subscribers the UK and BT (Retail) alone currently has.
