UPDATE: Added V21's offer to existing Gio users. Gio itself now states that a deal with an unnamed provider is near. One of the most controversial and troubled providers of the past year,
Gio Internet, has today stopped taking new sign-ups. Gio also sent out a plea to any rival ISP's that may be interested in taking on their customer base:
Gio Internet will be stopping sign-ups to all it's products as of today.
All existing customers will be able to continue to use the service until the end of their billing period.
Customers are advised to call 0870 922 4000 if they have any questions or concerns.
Gio Internet will continue to support all it's users until they can find a suitable ISP to change to or until the end of their billing period, whichever is sooner.
Any ISP is interested in taking over Gio Internet's customer base are advised to contact Hauka http://www.hauka.comThe news wont come as a shock to anybody familiar with the turmoil suffered by Gios many customers, although were surprised it took this long in the first place. Gio has become a name associated with problems, a name many would be glad to see the back of.
A quick search of our archives with the term 'Gio' shows many a problem:
