DigitalSpy reports that NTL has signed with Openwave to help deploy new anti-spam and virus filtering software onto its Internet access platform:
The Openwave technologies are designed to block abuse from spam, viruses and malicious messaging. Currently, network edge spam-blocking with an integrated McAfee virus system has been implemented; in the next phase of deployment, another anti-spam filter will be applied to further filter out spam from the inboxes of NTL's customers.
