Hull based operator Kingston Communications has posted that its turnover for the year to March was up 23.6% at £364.3m compared to £294.7m last year. Continued broadband growth and the acquisition of rival ISP Eclipse Internet have helped:
Our East Yorkshire operation continues to experience strong growth in broadband, both in its core regional market via the Karoo brand and nationally via Eclipse Internet. Overall, our internet customer base, on a like-for-like basis, has increased 58 per cent from 66,000 to 104,000 with 70 per cent of all internet customers having broadband connections.
The migration of customers to broadband and the resulting strong access revenues are offsetting the effects of the national trend of declining dial-up internet traffic.
