Recipients of PlusNet's latest newsletter have pointed us towards a number of interesting pieces of information; not least the providers aim to remove idle timeouts from its broadband products by the summer:
Were working with BT and alternative broadband suppliers to develop our network in order to remove idle timeouts from both these products by the summer. Idle timeouts were implemented because of a flaw in the existing BT product design which should be removed in the coming months. This flaw does not exist when using alternative broadband network providers.
Initially this seemed to be promoted as a feature rather than a bug, although the alternating traffic management methods employed by PlusNet are kind of hard to keep track of.
The newsletter also welcomes MetroNet into the fold, yet we've heard a growing number of complaints from customers since PlusNet took it over.
