Naims has announced that, in order to maintain its low ADSL prices, their broadband wholesaler has insisted they end monthly contracts on all new broadband registrations from the end of January 2006. Existing customers will not be affected:
All unmetered dial up packages will remain unchanged and will continue to operate on monthly contracts.
Quote : "We realise this will have an affect on our business especially as we do not have the financial resources that would allow us to offer a Free activation policy and pay the £47 Inc vat activation fee for each new customer. However we will continue to work hard to provide good customer service and of course maintain low cost broadband .We hope to extend this policy with the offer of Upto 8mb package for the same price as our current Upto 2Mb package, later this year."
No word is given on how their packages will be adjusted (contract wise) after the end of January. Its possible that other vISPs could also be impacted, although weve yet to hear of any.
