OFT Clears NTL & Telewest Merger

New years celebrations may have somewhat over shadowed this news, yet the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) formally gave its approval to the NTL and Telewest merger on Friday. Similarly a merger between BSkyB and broadband provider Easynet Plc was also approved.
Much of this had already been expected, although complications with the recent Virgin Mobile offer only served to confuse matters. It now remains to be seen what both Sky and NTL/Telewest will make of their new found partnerships.
