Train operator Eurostar is preparing to begin trials of broadband wireless (Wi-Fi Hotspot) technology on its cross-channel services sometime later this year.
Details are sketchy, although the operator plans to introduce the technology during refurbishment of its 10-year-old fleet of 27 trains, which is due to take place mid-year.
It's believed that the service will use a satellite link for main supply, which would probably cut any connection while travelling under the channel. More details will follow in a few months time.
