New research from Motorola has found that 60% of UK broadband users purchased the technology for its speed, with just 9% (vs 20% of Italians) adopting it for new services (video,
VoIP etc.).
Some 500 people were questioned for the survey, which also revealed that 90% of French broadband users knew about
VoIP (voice over Internet), with 52% using it. By comparison, just 17% use
VoIP in the UK.
Overall UK consumers appeared less interested than their European counterparts in broadband's other benefits.
