F2S Offers Free Downloadable Books

Posted: 26th Jul, 2006 By: MarkJ
ISP Freedom2Surf has teamed up with a digital audiobooks specialist, Audible, to offer two free downloadable books to of all its customers:

With thousands of titles to choose from – ranging from language and self-help tutorials to comedy, fiction and thrillers – users are able to listen and learn anytime and anywhere.

Ideal for commuters, audiobooks can be downloaded straight on to a user’s PC and then burned to a CD or MP3 player for use on the move. Titles such as the Da Vinci Code and Harry Potter have become a hit in a downloadable format, with almost 900,000 Audible customers downloading books in electronic format.

Audible book downloads can be used with iTunes, Windows Media Player, with a quick plug-in, and downloaded to over 200 different devices, including MP3 players, smartphones, PDAs, and all iPods, which is good news for freedom2surf’s expanding Apple user base. Research from IDG found freedom2surf was the most popular ISP amongst Mac users, holding 12 per cent of the market.
