Business ISP
Fluidata has launched a new ADSL2+ (Annex-M variant) based business broadband service - BURST, which is capable of delivering download speeds of up to 20Mbps and 2.5Mbps upload:
BURST has been designed with business needs in mind, using the Annex-M variant of ADSL 2+. This means that as well as up to 20 Mb/s download, Fluidata is now able to offer a DSL service with uploads speeds in excess of 2 Mb/s from a single line, with 2.5 Mb/s possible under optimum conditions. This means that the service can offer upload speeds to better SDSL, and with a considerably increased download capability of up to 20 Mb/s.
BURST requires an existing BT phone line, with activation taking 7-10 days. Currently over 150 exchanges have been enabled across the UK, with an aggressive rollout strategy already underway which will take BURST to over 500 further exchanges before the end of 2006.
BURST is currently available as a beta version until live testing completes at the end of August, but all businesses signing up now will receive a quality service at a discounted cost for the lifetime of the product. Once the beta trailing has finished a full SLA will be applied to the product without further cost to existing users.Typically customers are unlikely to get the headline speed, although one recent test returned a result of 15.7Mbps downstream and 1.9Mbps upstream, which is more than adequate. Unfortunately Fluidata doesnt provide any public pricing for the product.
