Thinkbroadband has spotted a worrying piece of news on the
Ivybridge Today website, which reports that dozens of Kingsbridge broadband users have been unable to log on to the Internet for as much as three weeks:
So far there has been no success in tracking down the cause of the problem. Customers say internet service providers blame BT while BT blames the ISPs.
Steve Mammatt, from Actionwest Business Systems, said he had so many calls coming in at the beginning of last week that he had to put out an announcement on South Hams Radio: I asked people experiencing problems not to ring us but to contact their service provider because, if they do, it means BT will get the message that the problem is localised, he said. Connection in Kingsbridge last week was up and down like a fiddlers elbow.
A spokesman from service provider Eclipse commented: We have noticed an increase in connection related faults from the Kingsbridge area. This has been raised to our wholesale suppliers for further investigation. A BT spokesman said there were no problems at the Kingsbridge exchange.
The piece covers numerous individual complaints from people living in the area and it's understood that the ISPs most affected are Eclipse, Tiscali, AOL and
Pipex.
