The latest survey from the Radicati Group reminds us just why SPAM (junk e-mail) can survive in the first place, since one in every ten people will actually buy from it!:
This is despite many of these attempted purchases failing to materialise. Another nine per cent said they had lost money due to email scams advertised in spam emails.
"If the promotion in the spam sounds too good to be true, it probably is," said Marcel Nienhuis, market analyst at Radicati. "If people stop buying products from spam, it would probably go away."The study, which surveyed roughly 800 e-mail users, will have a good number of our readers bashing their heads against the wall in disbelief.
Shockingly nearly 40% not only read the messages, but also clicked on links inside them. More @
