Eclipse Trials Triple Play Service

Posted: 13th Aug, 2005 By: MarkJ
ADSLGuide has spotted a press release on Eclipse Internet's site, which details the start of their attempt to trial a "new national ‘triple-play’ service that incorporates digital television, telephony and its award-winning broadband service.":

Working with Netgem, manufacturers of the highly rated next generation iPlayer+ settop box, Eclipse Internet is creating an all-inclusive service that will allow customers to use the range of benefits possible through the iPlayer+ box as well as 2Mbps broadband connection and Eclipse’s exclusive low-cost calls package.

The trial will provide integrated access via the TV to a full range of Freeview and Top-Up TV channels together with content on demand and additional broadband content by combining the normal telephone connections and the Freeview signal.

Luke Lang, marketing manager at Eclipse Internet commented: “This trial is the next step to providing the first national ‘triple-play’ service where customers receive all the benefits of digital TV and a high-quality, reliable 2Mbps broadband service along with low-cost telephone calls - all from one supplier.”

Eclipse’s new IPTV offering is set to be launched sometime later this year.
